ARCA Simplifies Taxation

Former ARCA head Juan Pazo announced that the recent tax reforms aim to simplify Argentina's tax system.

The goal is to eliminate unnecessary records and informational regimes that required the agency to receive data on minimal expenses, from a single peso on a card to basic electricity and gas usage.

"I have always said I would participate in this process for two years."

"It is important to understand that people can bring private sector contributions to the public sector and not stay in a position forever."

"We moved from a persecution regime where everyone was a culprit until ARCA proves otherwise, to a tax‑collection focus where everyone is innocent and free to use the fruits of their labor."

"It cannot be that in this country you buy a pair of sneakers in 24 installments and a house in cash; that is what this project allows people to do."

The new simplified profits regime automates declarations and guarantees consumption privacy, Pazo says, while returning to the formal economy is the key step for people to regain credit access.

Pazo justified his resignation after two years of management as an exercise of republican normality and the need to return to private activity.
